History of Havaianas
They are very popular fashion item but it’s taken then a long time to get like this. They were first made in 1962 and they were based on Japanese sandals, which is why the bottom of Havaianas has a rice-type pattern. For the next few decades they were generally sold in small shops, super markets and petrol stations and were very simple style and didn’t have different styles like today. The main style had a white upper sole with no flag on the straps or through the sole. It wasn’t until the mid 90’s when the company started producing different styles of Havaianas and this is when they started to become more popular.
The style with the white sole was still produced but in much smaller quantities and they started being made in different styles and colours, including Top Havaianas which are all the same colour. They also released the styles with the Brazil flag on the strap which was to celebrate the football world cup. By 2000 they were becoming more popular in Brazil as a fashion item. Now they are sold in over 60 countries over the world.
I pray Rooney is ok for the world cup. Someone told me he might be fixed by in 2 weeks but I don’t know if I should believe it. Anyone got any inside information?
