Dressing for an interview

When leafing through fashion magazines or style books it is noticeable that shoes tend to fall within the categories dealing with accessories, yet they have a major influence on our mood and reflect our attitude to life. For example, at the all-important job interview where stiff competition is to be expected, it is necessary to give the impression of high standards in appearance. It is therefore best to wear a good quality leather shoe of a neutral colour with minimal features. A court shoe that has a medium-sized heel is the ideal option.  Neutral colours encompass black, brown, navy, olive, mahogany or burgundy so there is quite an extensive choice.  The final decision should be a shoe of a colour that will blend with the suit you wear.

If you are unfortunately not offered the job, then care of your shoes until the next interview is sensible.  For instance, if you are caught in a shower of rain and your shoes are wet, don’t dry them next to a radiator or any form of direct heat.  Instead, stuff them with newspaper and allow them to dry at toom temperature.  This will keep the shape. Alternatively get yourself a pair of Havaianas and it doesn’t matter if they get wet.
